Being good in communication is very important for building relations with anyone.
Some teenagers have excellent communication skills naturally, by their character. Others have problems in relations and need to improve skills.
The most important thing is respect. You should treat anyone you are talking to with respect, no matter who is before you, a younger person or older one.
Respect of other opinion is important too. Listen to opinion attentively, try to put yourself on the place of other person and try to understand why he or she has such opinion. Support your opinion with arguments.
Always be calm. If you lose your temper, somebody might take advantage of it. Even if your communication partner shouts, offends you, stay calm, both outside and inside. If you start to shout in response, you will fail.
Have eyes contact. It is not very pleasant to communicate with people who do not look at you.
If you want to reproach a person in something, tell only about definite event or fact, do not label with the phrases like "you always", "you never". Do not blame. If you blame, your partner will naturally defend and it will result in conflict.
Help people if you can and they ask you but do not insist on your help if somebody, even your friend, tells he does not need it.
If you like to talk, do not talk too much, learn to listen to others. Do not always talk only about yourself, learn to be interested in life of others.
