Panic Attacks

by Jessica James (U)

A panic attack isn't an occasional thing. They usually come out of nowhere. You suddenly feel something bad is going to happen; you also start to have physical symptoms, such as heart pounding, diffi culty breathing, a choking sensation, dizziness, and numbness. Some people feel like they are looking down on themselves. Most panic attacks last 15 to 30 minutes. And a lit tle advice, don't try to deal with a panic attack by yourself.

I have personally experienced a panic attack. I felt like I was trapped inside myself, in the back of my mi nd, h elpless with no control over the motions of my body. I remember hearing unfamiliar voices shouting at me, commanding me to do things. I also remember being very dizzy and scared. Like many people, I felt like I was looking above myself. A panic attack is a very scary thing, and hopefully you won't have to deal with one.
