Teenagers in Russia like to wear what their parents cannot get used to. Modern fashion can shock many, even teenagers themselves but they accept it easier than adults.

We think that teen fashion in Russia is not very different from fashion in European countries.

Jeans clothes are one of the most popular things to wear. But not many wear simple jeans clothes. Teenagers prefer it with different decorations, with holes or unusual design. The most popular colour of jeans clothes is blue but some teenagers wear red and white.

Popular also are tight trousers and breeches with low waist, even among boys.
Most of teenage girls prefer wearing mini skirts.
Blouses are not very popular; instead teenagers prefer wearing tops with stomach shown. It is reason for many protests of adults; they call it "wearing nothing, going naked".


Shoes preference depends on a person but most of girls prefer shoes or boots with high heels. In winter it is very uncomfortable to wear boots with high heels, especially if roads are covered with ice. But fashion demands it!

Piercing has become in great fashion, teenagers wear rings not only in ears, as it used to be, but in nails, stomach, nose, lips, and cheeks.
Make up is very popular, many teenagers prefer a lot of it and very bright, to seem more grown.
If you want to be modern and follow all trends, you need to have a lot of money.

Abercrombie, Hot Topic, Aerospatiale, and Hollister Company. Torn jeans are very popular, and aren’t allowed in some schools.  T-shirts with sarcastic comments and comments that are mocking popular culture and popular clothing are also very popular. Most people like to dress very casual throughout weekends, except when there is an important party such as a sweet 15 party; in that case, teenagers like to dress formally to attend such an important event.
